Free?
Pagan Personals is a free service to the Pagan and Magical Community. While we need your support we want to make sure all members can use the service. Therefore free members can use all of the features of the site, but will have certain limits on how much they can do per day in order to keep server use under control.
Optional paying VIP Members will of course have unrestricted access and given certain perks since they keep this site running.
What's the catch?
None! You are free to view the ads as well as place ads (provided you register as a member - which is also free of course). The registration process simply helps weed out invalid email addresses and pranksters. If you want to respond to more than three ads a day then simply become a VIP Member, otherwise you can come back the next day to respond to more ads - simple as that!
How many so called "free" sites actually let you both view and respond to ads? They say free membership but their members can only place ads.
We also do not sell/distribute your e-mail address, and we limit paid advertising to maintain site integrity. Members come first - not profit!
But how do you make money?
Quite simply, we do not! We donate our own time and resources towards this project. It was not designed to generate a profit. Since the service consists of SEVERAL servers and costs us over a thousand dollars a year to maintain we need your support.
Sadly very few people have made donations in the past so the optional VIP Membership feature was our only choice which still allowed those who could not afford the service to stil use it.
Why provide a free service.
Because we can. It's hard enough for the average person to find that special someone and Pagans often find it even more difficult to find a kindred spirit. If we had the money to pay for the hosting and maintenance ourselves we would, but until then I have to hope enough members will consider helping out.
It disturbs us immensely how commercial the Internet has gotten. Advertising banners often outweigh content and junk mail (a.k.a. "spam") clogs our email accounts daily... where does it end????
I'll tell you where it ends - it ends here, on this site. Consider this a haven from the bombardment of advertising and sales pitches. If you can't or won't support us, you are still free to use the service with the minor limitation in the number of ads you can respond to in a day. We could have limited much more but that's simply not our style. Unlike most "free" personals which really don't allow access to anything but teasers we realy do give free members access to all the features.
